What actually sets the price of your job: total metres of gutter, number of corners and outlets, single or double storey access, the state of the fascia behind the old run, downpipe count, and the profile you choose. A compact single-storey cottage and a rambling two-storey homestead can differ by a factor of several times. Our quotes itemise each of those pieces so you can see where the money goes and trim scope if you want to.

Per-metre pricing sounds tidy but hides the real drivers. Ten metres with three corners, two outlets and second-storey access costs more per metre than thirty straight metres at ground level, because corners, outlets and ladders are where the labour lives. That is why we price whole jobs rather than quoting a metre rate that would have to be wrong in one direction or the other.

Off-the-shelf sectional guttering from a hardware store really is cheap per length, and for a garden shed it is a perfectly fine Saturday project. For a house, the sticker price leaves out joiners, brackets, sealants, downpipes, the ladder hours, and the fact that every join you make is a maintenance appointment you have booked for your future self. Continuous guttering costs more upfront and removes those joins entirely, along with the DIY risk of working at height.

We roll Australian-made BlueScope coil at 0.42 BMT. BMT is base metal thickness, the steel itself, measured before the coating goes on. Thinner imported coil can quote a similar total thickness with less actual steel in it, which shows up later as dents from ladders and hail and shorter rust-through life. The 0.42 spec is the one we are happy to stand behind.

Give them a look each season change and after any serious blow. With mesh the check takes minutes from the ground: water moving through downpipes during rain is the system saying it is fine. Without mesh, plan on actual cleaning at least twice a year around here.

Depends what let go. If brackets pulled out of sound fascia, re-hanging works. If the fascia has softened or the gutter base is rusting, re-hanging just reschedules the failure. A quick look tells us which, and we quote the cheaper path whenever it will actually hold.
