How to read a guttering photo
Anyone can photograph shiny new steel. What separates careful work from quick work shows in the details, so here is what to look for as you scroll. Sight along each run: the line should be arrow straight against the fascia, with the barely visible tilt toward the outlet that makes water move. Look at the corners, because that is where fabrication skill lives; a mitred corner should look like the gutter grew that way. Check the gap under the roof sheeting where the mesh tucks in on the guard photos, and notice the spirit level shot, which is the boring picture we are proudest of.
You will notice most frames are close-ups rather than street-back glamour shots. That is deliberate. The wide shot flatters everybody; the close-up is where a rivet line wanders, a mitre gapes or a downpipe lands crooked against its wall, and it is the distance from which you will see your own guttering every day from the clothesline. We shoot the work at the distance it gets judged.

- Sight along every run for an arrow-straight line
- Corners should look grown, not patched together
- Mesh tucks cleanly under the roof sheeting
- Downpipes land plumb against their walls
- The spirit level shot is the quality receipt

Continuous runs dominate because they dominate the workload, the mesh close-ups cover the guard installs, fascia and eave lines sit behind several of the gutter frames, and the process pictures fill in the rest.
